Sea Shepherd
Fish Woman

This diptych features two human figures, taken from live models, whose heads have been transformed to evoke a symbolic mutation specific to our era, the Anthropocene. In the first painting, "Sea Shepherd," a man with a diver's head, a powerful yet vulnerable body, watches anxiously over a woman, depicted in the second painting, "Fish Woman," whose weakened body and fish head express the pain of transformation. The meticulously detailed hands become a silent language that underscores the bonds of empathy and humanity between the two figures. Despite the gravity of the subject, the light-filled backgrounds suggest a lingering sense of hope.
